An autumnal thank you to all of our submitters for Issue 1.

1.5 oz. whiskey
.5 oz. lemon juice
3 oz. apple cider
1 heaping spoonful of apple butter (to taste) .

For a nonalcoholic version:
.5 oz. lemon juice
3 oz. apple cider
1 heaping spoonful of apple butter (to taste)
1 tsp. maple syrup

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until very cold. Pour into a rocks glass over ice, top with seltzer, garnish with a lemon twist and apple slices.
